Assignment on Technology in the Classroom

Every time I stop to think about the technological advances that have taken place in the last ten years I am amazed at how far we have come. In a world where technological advances are frequent and always changing it is critical for us to keep up with these advances. I recall my fourth grade class going to the computer lab and we played a computer game called Oregon Trail. We were so impressed by this technology and it helped us get excited about computers. Our teacher also would constantly encourage us to practice typing things on our keyboards.
My teacher recognized the importance of getting students started early with these advances so that as advances got more and more difficult we were able to keep up with them. I really felt that using computers and other technological advances helped us get better acquainted with the world around us. It helped us feel like we were a part of society. Our teacher probably could've used more assignments on computers and maybe even had a computer class as part of a unit of class. It also would have been more beneficial to have a better background into how computers work and how tips for using the internet.

I read both of the entire articles and I found some useful information about technology in the classroom.

One rule of thumb is integrating technology into the classroom helps prepare students for the future and helps them understand the world around them.

A second rule of thumb is to always make sure that everyone in the class is up to date and in touch with technology so that no one falls behind and can't catch up.
